Portrait Finished with Coffee Stains

"Nothing is impossible", please forgive me quoting that famous but
already commonly-used slogan here, because I really couldn't think of
other sentences or words to show my surprise and excitement about
Malaysian artist Hong Yi's exceptional portrait of China's musician
Jay Chou, which was finished using coffee stains. The portrait was
completed in just 12 hours, on the Valentine's Day in China, but its
innovative concept is much more amazing even than some artworks
finished in several days or several months!

Yaniv Berg’s Digital Reflex Camera

Featuring a unique shape of a tube, Yaniv Berg's Digital Reflex Camera
(DSLR) will create you an entirely different experience of
photography. Firstly, you needn't have to hold the camera to your face
but simply put it against your stomach during the process, since the
new camera curves at the end to show you the images. Another change
the camera will result in is that you photographers needn't have to
bend down awfully or even lie onto the ground to check out what you're
shooting. The last but not the least is that when you turn the camera,
its interface screen then turns the image to display mode and the
image will be rotated 180 degree for the observers.

The Hand Guard

The Hand Guard is a protective silicon cover for your hands, to be
used when you're cooking. For the love of French fries, I'd use this
more while deep frying! The oil splutters tend to create havoc with
your skin, especially if you're in the cooking profession and at it
all the time. A simple funnel-shaped cover fits over the equipment and
covers quite a bit of your hand. The USP is that you can use the cover
with almost any sized spoon, ladle, chopstick or tongs; without
hampering your cooking maneuvers. Simple and functional!

Connect Your Mind to Your iPhone.

What could also control your cellphones except for you fingers and
sound? Right here the XWave headset gives us an exciting answer: your
mind. After having picked up tiny electrical signals that change along
with your thoughts, the XWave then turns them into signals that can
control your phone. But will you be able to control others' iPhones
when wearing the headset? I am much more concerned to know that.

Skin Gun that can Heal Severe Burns within Days

Good news to those people who are suffering from severe burns is that
they can get their skins recover more quickly and conveniently now.
The break-through skin gun is designed and made by Jorg C. Gerlach and
colleagues at Stem Cell Systems GmbH in Berlin, using "individual
adult stem cells from the patient's uninjured skin are applied to the
wound site, where they differentiate into normal skin." The newly
introduced stem cells are able to fully generate normal skins within
several days, and thus to make your burned skin recover its color and
function in a matter of several months.

Pesticide made from Cooking Oil

Eco-friendly and crop-friendly, the new pesticide made by Israeli
agriculture scientist Samule Gan-Mor is a combination of edible canola
(or rapeseed oil), soybean oil, cottonseed oil and slightly expensive
olive oil, and thus it can kill the pests without resulting any health
risks to the environment or people. Although it needs several kinds of
oil to produce, the pesticide is actually low-cost enough for mass
production.

New Reagent Makes Cancer Cells Visible.

The treatment for cancer may soon find a more effective alternative,
as scientists from Japan and America have collaborated with a new
reagent that makes cancer cells glow and thus visible to human's naked
eyes.

Within minutes after the reagent is sprayed to human body, the
cancerous cells will then grow green, therefore allowing for a more
accurate distinguishing from healthy tissues. By doing that, all
cancerous cells could get completely removed, so as to reduce the risk
of disease recurrence. The researchers aim to put the reagent to
practical use within a few years, and currently they're still testing
to see whether the fluorescent molecule could be poisonous to cells.

eSleeper for Cats

eSleeper is a 21st century cat basket, an ideal resting location for any cat.

When the feline decides its nap-time, eSleeper's automated lighting
control turns on a relaxing wave of color inside an eMac, while
greeting the cat with the iconic Macintosh start-up chime (keeping the
legacy of the eMac). When the cat walks out, eSleeper turns off the
lights and tweets to @eSleeper1, displaying various phrases along with
how long the cat has occupied eSleeper.

How did eSleeper start life?

My cat loves sleeping, preferably in one location. His old basket
suffered from overuse and had to be discarded. Instead of buying him a
replacement, I decided to bring cat baskets into the digital age and
build eSleeper. He now loves eSleeper (and is sleeping even better).

How does it work?

An Ethernet Arduino is used to control eSleeper. Data is sent to the
Arduino from an infra-red beam attached to the inside of the eMac.
When the beam breaks, the Arduino turns on the RGB LED, talks a sound
shield to play the Macintosh startup chime and records how the cats
been inside. When the beam is broken again, the Arduino turns off the
LED and tweets a random phrase with the time spent inside.

eSleeper, because cats like automation too.

Beautifully Hollowed Lamps

While human's love for light resulted in the invention of bulbs and
lamps, Calabarte's love for beautiful light art has brought us these
