Must see movie in 2012 - Titanic 3D

All time classic movie that makes the whole world cry now back with new experience.

Must see movie in 2012 - Snow White and The Huntsman

This is one of two Snow White flicks slated for the big screen next year - the other, Mirror Mirror, is a colourful family tale starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins - but it is this bleaker, beefier version that paints Snow White as a trained warrior (played by Twilight's Kristen Stewart) that has everyone so excited.

Also stars Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and Charlize Theron as the evil queen.

Must see movie in 2012 - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

After a two-year production delay forced Guillermo del Toro to quit this project, only one man could take his seat in the director's chair - Peter Jackson, the New Zealand filmmaker behind J.R.R. Tolkien's other series,
Lord of the Rings.

This two-part prequel to LOTR introduces fans to a much younger Bilbo Baggins who must reclaim the lost Dwarf kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. Familiar faces like Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen and Orlando Bloom all reprise their roles, while newcomers Evangeline Lily (as elf Tauriel) and Sherlock's Martin Freeman (as Baggins) are fresh additions. New child seat law now in effect

CALGARY — Infant buckets, boosters and car seats with five-point harnesses lined with the kind of foam that protects race-car drivers sit along the back wall of Kacz’ Kids store in southern Calgary.

Each complies with new federal regulations that take effect Jan. 1 designed to make child car seats safer.

“Well, we’re feeding kids way too much. They get too . . . much fat in the food and the kids are just bigger,” said Wally Kaczmarek, who’s run the store for 27 years. An infant seat must now hold babies up to 10 kilograms.

Seats for older children will have to fit 30 kg: previously, child seats were made for kids up to 22 kg.

But Kaczmarek doesn’t recommend buying a new seat unless the old one has expired or been in an accident.

Seats created under the older guidelines are still safe, he added, although each year design features are added to car seats.

One company, he said, is now using steel frame construction and memory foam. Typically, a seat will last about 10 years. After that, it should be dumped because the plastics degrade.

“Most people won’t notice the difference to the regulations because they are targeted mostly at the manufacturers,” said Dr. Richard Musto, the Calgary zone medical officer with Alberta Health Services. Many car seat makers have had almost a year to upgrade their designs, he added.

“People who have purchased their car seats in the last year or so may already have car seats that are compliant with the new regulations.”

Alberta law requires all children under six to be placed in properly fastened seats when travelling by car. Police check seats at checkstops and issue fines to wayward parents. The government provides a car seat class for anyone who flouts the fine.

“The law is not meant to be punitive, but to keep our children safe,” Musto said.

Yet parents are still failing to keep their children safe, Kaczmarek said.

“I’ve seen people using pillows, not using seatbelts. It’s a horror show,” he added.

His son Brennon Kaczmarek, who also works at Kacz’ Kids, agrees. Often parents are too quick to stuff their new, state-of-the-art child safety equipment in the car without bothering to figure out how it works.

“My biggest beef is when they don’t read the instructions,” he said. “I get rolled eyes. It boggles the mind.”

In a statement made public Thursday, federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq said: “When these new regulations come into force . . . child car seats sold in Canada will meet Canada’s highest testing standards and therefore will be as safe as possible.”

DHEA good for improving sexual life, but women should understand 2 points

By Dr Jennifer Landa MD on December 27, 2011 - 6:06pm

With the recent results of the Italian study published in Climacteric, the Journal of the International Menopause Society regarding DHEA and its ability to improve sexual well-being, women may be tempted to jump on the overthe-counter "supplement" to improve their sex drive and avoid hormone replacement therapy. First, it should be understood that DHEA is a hormone. Second, understandings abound regarding hormone replacement therapy and
women need to know more about their choices for hormone replacement therapy.

In 2002, one of the arms of a study called the Women’s Health Initiative was stopped early because of reports that hormone replacement therapy increased the risk of breast cancer and cardiovascular disease. Women were taken off hormone replacement in record numbers. The news reports about hormone replacement therapy were bad – really bad. They reported over and over that hormone replacement therapy will give you breast cancer or heart disease. This was surprising news to the medical community because doctors had been advocating for hormone replacement therapy, until this time, as a way to decrease heart disease and many other diseases including osteoporosis and others.

UK to investigate French-made breast implants

LONDON -- The British government launched an investigation Saturday into whether potentially faulty breast implants fitted by a French company pose a risk to women.
Health Secretary Andrew Lansley ordered the urgent review of the safety of silicon implants made by the now-defunct French company Poly Implant Prothese after saying he had received new information about them.
The implants were pulled off the market last year in countries around Europe and South America amid fears they could rupture and leak silicone into the body.
France's health safety agency said the implants appear to be more rupture-prone than other types.
French investigators also said PIP used industrial silicone instead of the medical variety to save money. However, the medical risks posed by industrial silicone are unclear.
Around 40,000 women in Britain have such implants.
Britain's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency had said it did not see enough proof of cancer or an excessive risk of rupture to recommend women in Britain have the implants removed, but Lansley said the newly received data prompted the government decision to investigate.
"I want to reassure women that if any new data comes to light which calls into question the safety of these implants, we will act swiftly to help them," he said. "Our top priority is making sure that women get the correct advice so that they are kept safe."
Lansley said Britain's medical regulator would also carry out an audit of the content and quality of data that cosmetic surgery providers share with authorities.
Prof. Bruce Keogh, the medical director of Britain's National Health Service, will lead the investigation.
France's health system has recommended that women with the PIP implants get them replaced and has agreed to pay for surgeries.
Brazil said Friday that it has permanently banned PIP implants, but did not guarantee that the state would pay for women to have them agreed.
Earlier in the week, Venezuela said it would offer free surgery for women to remove the PIP implants, and in Argentina 50 women threatened to sue their plastic surgeons if they don't get free replacements of the implants.

Lose weight by eating natural diet food: Chia seed

Chia seed is traditionally consumed in Mexico, and the southwestern United States, but is not widely known in Europe. Chia (or chian or chien) has mostly been identified as Salvia hispanica L. Today, chia is grown commercially in its native Mexico, and in Bolivia, Argentina, Ecuador, Australia and Guatemala. In 2008,Australia was the world's largest producer of chia.[6] A similar species, Salvia columbariae or golden chia, is used in the same way but is not grown commercially for food. Salvia hispanica seed is marketed most often under its common name "chia", but also under several trademarks.

In a one ounce (28 g) sample, dried chia seeds contain 9% of the Daily Value for protein (4g), 13% fat (9g)(57% of which is ALA) and 42% dietary fiber (11g), based on a daily intake of 2000 calories.[8] The seeds also
contain the essential minerals phosphorus, manganese, calcium, potassium and sodium[8] in amounts comparable to other edible seeds, such as flax or sesame.

Lose weight in a natural diet

The Chia Seed is a dieter’s dream come true. The tiny, healthy seeds can be made to taste like whatever you want, and their unique gelling action keeps you feeling full for hours. Hunger is a main enemy of real weight loss, and you don’t want to fight it with jittery expensive pills.
When a chia seed is exposed to water, it forms a coating of gel, increasing its size and weight. Since the gel made of water, it has no calories. It’s also difficult to remove from the seed, meaning that it helps your body think it is full, without adding calories!
